Mitzi Sequoia, known as The Basket Lady around these parts, had a terrific idea.
She observed that Nov. 13 was World Kindness Day and she decided to find a way to apply that theme to this area.
“I have a gently used adult Hard Rock mountain bike that I want to donate to a teen in high school,” she said, adding that the Hard Rock was purchased at Jackie Gammons’ Cyclery Shop and is valued at $500 in perfect condition.
“I’m confident that we have teens not only in Rumford but in the surrounding River Valley towns who do kind deeds for other teens,” said Sequoia.
If you have observed a teen showing a kindness for another teen at a high school, please send in a brief description to the Basket Lady of what the kindness was and nominate your teen by Monday, Dec. 15.
You may send in your nomination via email (mitzisequoia@roadrunner.com) or editor@rumfordfallstimes.
