Stereo Type to rock Kaleidoscope

  • RUMFORD — Kaleidoscope will feature the modern and classic rock of “Stereo Type” at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, at 49 Franklin in the Mystic Theater upper back parking lot entrance.

The band has had several personnel changes through the years the most recent blend consists of Justin Hamner Vocals and Bass, Chad Frisbie Drums, two lead guitar players Andy Broomhall lead guitar and vocals and Ryan Bulger, also lead guitar and vocals.

The two ax men especially enjoy mixing leads in and out but also love taking the front and hammering out a solo by themselves, especially songs like Blue Oyster Cult “Burning for You” and “Man in the Box” by Alice in Chains. Stereo Type enjoys playing songs the crowds love such as Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines, and Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You.” They also enjoy covering a variety of bands from AC/DC to Michael Jackson. Front man Justin Hamner says we just love having a good time, when the crowd loves it, we love it!” Stereo Type mostly plays weddings, parties, and special occasions.

Kaleidoscope will also feature Kris Howes of Ink Maine with “Art Fusion.” Up to six artists gather, at six easels, the band plays a song, and the artists start to draw. When the band changes their song the artists change easels, each artists takes a turn on each work for a unique one of a kind co-created work of art. there will be several runs of Art Fusion so there should be plenty of opportunity to get in on the fun! Artists who wait sometimes work on other pieces on their own.

February Kaleidoscope is hosted by local magician Scot Grassette. There is no cover but the fish bowl will be out for the visual artists and the performers.
